KM or Knowledge Management is a simple assimilation of explicit (what is known, expressed, noticeable) and tacit/implicit (what people know, experience, understand, difficult to articulate) knowledge in any organisation.
At SARO we aim to increase understanding of disability and disability issues through
- explicit knowledge tools like newsletters, brochures, website etc.
- implicit knowledge tools like communities of practice (CoPs), knowledge partnerships etc.
SARO’s KM goal – “is to become a learning institution and a primary knowledge source on disability in the South Asia region”.

We have evaluated "Tsunami Interventions" undertaken by 6 partner organisations of The Liliane Foundation (a Netherlands based disability organisation) through funds from OXFAM NOVIB. Summary here

We have recently completed a research case study on “Accessible Transport and Health of Persons with Disabilities” in India, as part of the networked research programme on ‘Mobility and Health’ conducted by International Forum on Rural Transport and Development (IFRTD) in Asia, Latin America and Africa.
