Job Title: Knowledge Manager, South Asia Regional Office, India

Location: Bangalore, India.
 

Leonard Cheshire Disability (LCD) exists to enable disabled people to improve their quality of life and to campaign for the removal of barriers which hinder them. We have been supporting disabled people for almost 60 years and are active in 55 countries, supported by more than 250 Leonard Cheshire Partners. LCD is the UK's largest voluntary sector provider of support to disabled people.
 
In South Asia, through our Regional Office (SARO), we work with around 21,000 disabled people in Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka and Pakistan, where the number of disabled people is as high as 68 million. We work through 36 partner organizations, managed by local committees addressing over 200,000 people in the community. Our regional office provides technical support and resources, focusing on Health & Rehabilitation, Inclusive Education, Economic Empowerment, Advocacy and Campaigning and Support for Everyday Living.

We are currently looking for a Knowledge Manager at the SARO office in Bangalore. The main purpose of the jobis to have commitment to disability issues and the ability to explore alternative solutions to gather information and disseminate disability knowledge. Experience of handling and managing the monitoring and evaluation of disability programmes are most preferable.
 
The position will be directly responsible to the Regional Representative, LCD SARO

Scope of the Job  

To design and be responsible for the implementation and ongoing development of effective Monitoring & Evaluation and MIS systems; responsible for design and implementation of programme-related research, and development of effective communication, resource and marketing materials for Leonard Cheshire Disability SARO
 
Qualifications and Experience 
 
Ø Masters degree in Social Work or Social Sciences.
Ø 5-7 years of experience in developing and implementing monitoring and evaluation systems - working with log frames, indicator setting, baseline, situational/needs assessment.
Ø Should have in-depth knowledge about disability and/or development issues
Ø Experience in setting up MIS systems and capacity building of staff on the same.
Ø Good at data analysis and providing critical inputs for improving programme management
Ø Experience of major donor reporting
Ø Experience of designing, planning and conducting social research and mixed-method Evaluation studies.
Ø Strong skills in developing effective communication materials like newsletters, website content, strategic documents, case stories etc.
Ø Experience of working in national or international development organisation working for disability or development.
Ø Experience in the use of and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, Access, Web Browsing and the Internet.
Ø A high level of creativity, and strong communication skills, sound proficiency in computer skills including word processing, DTP and Power Point.
Ø Strong Communication skills both verbal and written

Duties and Responsibilities 
 
  1. To be responsible for the Monitoring and Evaluation of all the projects, including base line, mid-term and impact studies.
  2. Develop processes for monitoring programme reviews.
  3. To be responsible for the development and content of the SARO website and the database.
  4. To be responsible for donor reporting.
  5. Responsible for all research activities in the South Asia region.
  6. To be responsible for the development of all publication material such as Regional Office brochure, appeals, leaflets, case stories etc with the support of Communication Officer and Resource Development Manager.
  7. To be responsible for the development and management of knowledge both from the field base and international under the guidance and support of the Knowledge Manager, UK.
  8. To be responsible for the development and preparation of resource materials and publications for the regional programme and for the maintenance of the resource bank.
  9. Coordinate and provide logistical support and travel arrangements for regional workshops/meetings, regional and international workshops, reviews and conferences.
  10. To develop and dispatch reports of SARO on a monthly, half yearly and annual basis to all stakeholders of SARO programmes, and to the Central Office in the UK on a regular basis.
  11. To manage and collect reports from all the South Asia regional consultants in thematic area support.
 
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, organized and confident.  They will work well as part of a team and will have the ability to work creatively with prospective, current, and past grantees.  A constructive outlook is a plus.
 
Salary Offered: INR 5,29,847/- (per annum)
